If one was to actually spend a substantial portion of the waking hours researching the subject of Snow White, then it's to be expected that, after a time, one might actually find something on the subject of "snow white"...

Thanks to Brian Wyant for sending this addition to the snow white "not" list. The boardwalk at Wildwood, New Jersey. Snow White's...serving up pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers and fried chicken.

1956 Mickey Mouse Club Magazine - The "Snow White's Adventures" Spread

October 3, 1955 marked the first episode of The Mickey Mouse Club on television. Shortly after came the inaugural issue of the Mickey Mouse Club Magazine (Winter 1956: Volume 1, Number 1) for which a year's subscription of four issues could be had for just $1.00 (USD).

This children's periodical featured in print similar subject matter to that which was being seen on the TV show: Mouseketeers, Mickey Mouse, Spin and Marty, etc. It also contained something special for fans of Snow White.

Included in this issue was a three page piece on Disneyland's "Snow White's Adventures". (The word "Scary" was not added to the attraction's title until many years later.) Specifically, the spread featured dramatic concept art for the ride by Disney Legend Ken Anderson. These illustrations and the accompanying text give us a glimpse into what that first ride was like. You the rider were Snow White and this was your adventure.

The Scary Adventures on Video

Filming inside a moving dark ride is not an easy task to accomplish, but here's a few videos from people who have tried. It's intriguing to note the numerous changes that have occurred to SWSA after updates and renovations have been implemented. The finale, for instance, on the pre-1994 WDW ride in particular has the Witch dislodging a giant jewel from above on the occupants of each mine car. The last scene is nothing but flashing lights...implying that they'd just been killed? Very interesting.

More La Blanche and Stampscapes

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. I want to say a big thank you to all you kind people who still come to visit, desipte me being unable to visit you. I really do appreciate it.

So just a couple of quick shares........"quick" seems to be my word of the moment, but the evil screen still plays havod with my eyes and balance......or it could be the other way round ? I rather think so, such is the nature of this illness.

The card above uses a number of Stampscape stamps onto a brayered and masked background and the card below is another of my samples for Sir Stampalot using the gorgeous new La Blanche stamps which I coloured with Copics and covered with a couple of coats of TH crackle glaze. DP is My Minds Eye and the flower made with TH tattered floral die

With the closing of the Scary Adventures Ride somewhere on the horizon at Walt Disney World, I thought it apropos to post some pics from it as well as from Disneyland, DL Paris and (with thoughts of hope and recovery going out to the Japanese people) a few from Tokyo as well.
