Allosorts literally

Good Morning everyone, well the snow arrived here last night, how about you ?

Not a lot, but it looks really pretty. It was the puppies first encounter with the white stuff, neither Daisy or Lily were took keen and both wanted to get back to their respective baskets.

I thought I would share the easel box card I made last week for Azaria, it used the really cute slapstick from Penny Black 40-038 Kindness, which I stamped and embossed three times, coloured with Copics and decoupaged. The DP is My Minds Eye, the swirls a sizzix die and the border Martha Stewart trellis fence. The flower is made using Tim Holtz tattered floral die, soaked in water to shape then spritzed with Glimmer Mist pearl. This is for the following challenges:

Crafty Catz - Christmas
Something Completely Different - Let it Snow (it is with glitter)

Over at Allsorts we have a brand new challenge this morning were my teami Amanda would like to see Monochromatic projects.

For my DT work I have created a shaped card using Nesties.........it's not huge but I do love the shape of these new labels 17........ which I spritzed the card itself with Glimmer Mist gold. I used Stamps by Judith (Stamp Addicts) 0-90 which I stamped with versamark and embossed with detail clear, then distressed with Tim Holtz scattered straw and tea dye. I then overstamped Stampendous long agapanthus in versafine sepia. The bottom section was run thorough the Big Shot using Cuttlebug bark folder, some ribbon, Swarovski crystals and a small sentiment to finish. This card is also for the following challenges:

Our Creative Corner - Tag it

Alphabet Challenge- E is for embossing
Lots to Do - Embosing (used dry and heat)

Penny Black Challenge

Wooo Hoo, I won at the Penny Black's Challenge blog hop. Never entered one before so you can imagine how surprised and excited I was to see I was one of the winners. I get to choose $25 Simon Says products, so a shopping spree awaits.

And this week they have a great sketch to follow. It's not unlike one I quite often use so feel really at home with this one. I have used Daisy Bucket DP's on the base card and inked a mat using my very watery swish and swoosh inky technique with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap, Peeled Pain and Broken China. The main image is Penny Black 3822K which I stamped with versafie sepia and embossed with detail clear and highlighted with stickles. The sentiment is Stamp by Judith SK-LG-207 and the border and corner punched with Fiskars Threading Water.

A real mixture

Well, how is everyone this Sunday morning ? I have just one card to share having been very, very good, done as I was told and yesterday made just one card and no blog hopping.......sorry peeps, I will be round to see you all soon. I found that if I lowered my daylight light so I was sort of working above the gaze that seems to work OK and I promised myself if my eye started to hurt I would stop and leave my card !!!!

I am being a bit naughty and combining three challenges here as realistically I can't spend any longer crafting just yet.......but I have managed to use some of my new goodies from Sir Stampalot so you can all see what super new stuff they had delivered this week.

The challenges are Friday Sketchers who have a nice sketch by Jeanette, Tuesday Taggers who want to see 'Red, Gold and Green' and Creative Card Crew who would like to see 'String, Hemp, Twine, Rope etc' on projects.

The image is one of the new Rachelle Anne Miller images - Scarecrow RM064, stamped in versafine black and embossed with detail clear and coloured in with my brand new Copics which I absolutely love and am getting on with really well. The little board round her neck - yes she is a lady scarecrow - is blank, so I wrote in the name I have given her - Raggy Annie and diamond glazed over.

I stamped her hat and the patches again onto some scraps of Junkitz DP and decoupaged them and also cut out some squares from the same paper to create the background. I added a band of hessian and some raffia which I thought went well with the rustic feel of the card. The layered flowers are from a new Woodware punch from Stampalot called Sakura which does a multi stamp of five flowers in various sizes for layering up. The sentiment it Stamps by Judith SK-LG-207 available from Stamp Addicts.

The red panel has been run through the Bug and lightly sanded and a stamped and coloured a second image onto Shrink Plastic which is placed just above the sentiment.

Three into one

Good day all and what a wonderful sunny day it is here in the Fens, hope you are all having a bit of the same. Beet harvesting is well under way now and this weather is ideal for them, always hate it when it's wet this time of year as our single track roads........oh yes, it's pretty rural where we live......become a mass of mud. So I always get black looks from the Polish car wash team at Tesco when I take my mud laden baby in for her wash.......being a sporty number it sits pretty close to the road so the mud just piles up.

Anyway, enough jabber, this is just a quick post in my lunch break with a card combining this weeks Passion for Promarkers where Gina has provided a brill sketch and you can use any colours on your project, Everybody Art Challenge who would like to see punches and shapes on your card ans Creative Card Crew who's theme is scallops.

My image is Sarah Kay stamped in versafine black and embossed with detail clear and coloured with Promarkers. I have stamped her hat again onto my DP which is from Best Creation and decoupaged it and also made three roses from the same paper. The scalloped border is using Fiskars threading water punch and the leaves are also punched with a new McGill punch. The sentiment is one of four on a skinny cube SK-LG-207 from Stamps by Judith. Not the best picture I am afraid as despite the bright day seemed to get shadow in every direction.

Passion for Promarkers & Spoonful of Sugar

I'm combining two challenges together on this one, Passion for Promarkers there the challenge is to use Cocoa and Cornflower Blue and A Spoonful of Sugar which ask that you use hearts on you projects.

I have used Art Impression T3094 (Sir Stampalot) as my main image stamped in versafine black and embossed with detail clear. To incorporate the hearts I used a Stamps by Judith (Stamp Addicts) stubby stamp to decorate her dress, colouring the hearts with the cocoa and the cornflower blue for the main part of her dress. As I have said before, I have problems with solitary figures, so my little girl is walking across cobbles stamped with Art Impression L3297, has some chalked clouds above her and some little birds using part of Art Impression G3234. My DP's are Daisy Bucket and Doodlebug, the top panel was run through the bug using the hearts folder to carry the theme and finished off with three flowers and some swarovski crystals.

Friday Sketchers 54

Good morning everyone, a beautiful sunny start to the day here, hope it's the same where you are.

I'm up against time here this morning as decided to treat myself to a laptop so I can transfer my Cricut software to it.............. and if I'm honest so I can blog on the go even when I'm away from my desk. But it will free up my desktop so justified I've told myself and John Lewis has a very nice new Toshiba on offer so I'm headed that way shortly.
Before I go, just found time to do this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge which is a lovely sketch from Jacqueline from the Netherlands. Have to say I'm not 100% happy with the finished article as not sure about the DP which is a double sided one from Crate Paper. I had decided on my image Penny Black 3949H and though the DP would match, but might be a tad dark for a summers day. But laptop calling, decided to go with it. The greeting is a skinny stamp from Stamps by Judith available from StampAddicts. Ovals cut on the cuttlebug with nesties.

Stamped as usual with versafine black and clear emboss, coloured with Marvy pens, stamped a second image for the two flowers at the top of the sketch and diamond glazed all. I cut the card itself on Cricut Wild Card, welding and flipping one of the shapes to achieve Jacquelin's chosen shape. I have used three beads threaded on a pin to fit with the left hand corner of the sketch and tied with a bow.

Also sharing a picture of one of the lupins and digitalis which are just coming out in the garden and also a hydrangea which is just showing colour. And by way of an explanation on the merecats before anyone asks, they totally fascinate me and when I saw these advertised in a ST supplement last year my Dad told me to buy them, so now they sit amongst the flowers.

Cupcake challenge 40

My second card today is for this weeks Cupcake challenge where there is a super sketch from Donna.

For the main image I used a new Inkadinkado set 98852. I think these are the latest fad they call 'inchies' and something tells me they are intended to swap rather like ATC's - sure someone will put me right here ? But I liked the images and have selected four spring like ones, birds nest, tulips, thrush (well he looks like a thrush to me) and a butterfly - of course. And to go with the spring theme some really fresh double sided DP - afraid have no idea of the origin other than Stampalot which is where the stamp set also came from.

The images are stamped onto bazzil using versafine sepia and detail clear embossing powder. The sentiment is a skinny stamp from Stamps by Judith (Stampaddicts). The narrow side strip was made using my new Fiskars punch and gold swirly embellies in the corners.

Creative Card Crew 10

Minimal is the theme set by Joey for this weeks Creative Card Crew challenge. So what is minimal in the world of cardmaking ?

I decided no DP's and chalked a blue scallop edge using an acetate stencil cut on the cricut, then distressed over with Tim Holz antique linen. I lightly stamped over the entire piece with Magenta 32090M using Hero soft sand to soften the background. Main image is Stamps by Judith (Stampaddicts) 0-90 which I stamped a couple of times, then stamped just a few of the branches to make it fuller. The greeting is Art Impression G3130 (Stampalot). Added tiny flowers, gem centre and a bow.

Cupcake challenge 39

The theme for the Cupcake challenge this week set by Denise is 'a card for a man or boy' and as she says these cards are "tricky".

I fished out a stamp I've not used in ages Creative Stamping LL227G, stamped it onto acetate with black stayzon, ran it through the Xyron and put a multi coloured leafing foil on the back. Unfortunately this made it really difficult to photograph, but assure you the image is clear in the flesh. I stamped the image out again with versafine black onto Diane's Daughters papers which I also used as the background, embossed it with detail clear and cut circles with nesties using the Cuttlebug. Added a greeting using a Skinny Stamp from Stamps by Judith (Stamp Addicts) and a metal corner.

Secret Crafter 31 and Everyday Art Challenges

Two into one again, this time for Secret Crafter where the challenge is "we would like to see brads or eyelets or both on your projects" and a new one Everyday Art Challenge. The second one is new to me, I discovered it this morning after Nixe visited my blog and I in turn visited her only to find she has a challenge and this week a brilliant sketch which immediately gave me an idea to re-create something similar to a project I designed for a class recently.

The main image is Hero CL284 stamped twice onto black card to create a larger one using versamark and detail white embossing powder. The little bird is from the same set and repeat stamped with versafine black and embossed with detail clear.

The two circles cut with nesties from black gloss card that has been run through the cuttlebug using bird call folder, then distressed with fine sandpaper. The greeting is a skinny stamp from Stamps by Judith (stampaddicts). Finally I added some little spotty brads and gingham ribbon.

Distressed and glittered

It's raining, it's cold so crafting seems the only option this morning, as if I need an excuse !

This card is really quite simple but I thought the colours needed to be left to do the talking. I build up the background with TH red brick, peeled paint and mustard seed and a bit of sepia around the edges. The image is Hampton Arts 4602 stamped in versfaine black and embossed with detail clear. I bleached out the flowers and parts of the planter to add an aged look, then added stickles to the flowers, leaves and butterflies when dry.

I resisted my usual impulse to embellish and simply inked a piece of grosgrain ribbon to match and stamped it using stayzon and a butterfly stubbie from Stamp by Judith (Stamp Addicts).

Three pooches

Two cards using this cute dog H197 by Stamps by Judith (stampaddicts). The first card has been masked and stamped three times with Stayzon black and coloured in with Marvy pens. The greeting is a favourite of mine Penny Black 3419D (SirStampalot). The background paper is from Daisy Bucket which I have overstamped around the borders to give a bit more dimension to the card with JudiKins 3345F using Versamark and embossed with gold detail. The dogs noses and collars have been diamond glazed to make them shine which shows up better in the close up picture.

The second card has been very simply stamped and embossed with versafine black and clear powder. The mats are cut using nesties labels as is the greeting which is stamped with C98 also by Stamps by Judith. The ballons are cut on Cricut Stretch your Imagination and the base card overstamped with a paw stamp (afraid no ide of origin) and the dog image coloured in with Marvy pens.

Glimmer Mists again

I've been at the Glimmer Mists again and created an oval to stamp on by masking the cardstock and spraying GM's honey dew mist, rose tea over a base of key lime and a top coat of iridescent pearl. I stamped over these sections with Hero H2367 in brilliance beige. The main stamp is from Stamp by Judith as is the flower which is one of their stubby stamps and the greeting a Skinny Stamp SK-L6-207. Main image and greeting stamped with versafine black, flowers with Brilliance orchid and all embossed with detail clear. Embellished with flowers and pearls. The background paper is Laundry Line from My Minds Eye.

Using up the left overs

Well, I had the two nestie cutouts from the last card so thought I'd better use them up. More Kaiser paper, stamped with Penny Black 3817C (Sir Stampalot) using veramark and a peach emboss powder, and greeting from a 'skinny stamp' from Stamps by Judith (Stamp Addicts). Kaiser also do lovely matching enamelled brads which I have used, a 'cheats' butterfly from my stash and diamond glaze on the flowers.
