Vintage Snow White Cut-Out Dolls

Paper dolls have been around for quite some time, the first being produced in Europe during the mid-eighteenth century. However, they didn't become popular in the US until around the 1920s. With onslaught of the Great Depression in the 1930s, the Golden Age of paper dolls had begun. Parents could still afford to buy their children this inexpensive toy where the figures are cut out of paper. Clothes and accessories are separate and usually held onto the dolls by use of folding tabs. Vintage paper dolls have become rare due to their fragile nature and thus are a highly sought-after collectible.

This Snow White set dates from 1938. The smaller text on the cover reads:
8 CUT-OUT DOLLS, 10 LARGE SHEETS OF DRESSES, ETC.

WHITMAN PUBLISHING CO., RACINE, WIS. COPYRIGHT 1938 BY WALT DISNEY ENTERPRISES, HOLLYWOOD, CALIF.
First two images feature the Snow White doll in her rag dress and the dwarfs without their hats or jackets.

Found on the next six sheets are a total of 10 princess dresses, two per sheet except for the last couple where the dresses are larger and include a feathered hat.

The remaining fold-out sheets contain the the dwarfs' jackets, beards, accessories like pick axes, as well as a few animals and the apple.
