WDCC "Enchanted Places" Miniature Series, 1995-1999

A unique addition to the Walt Disney Classics Collection were the miniature Seven Dwarfs' Cottage and Jewel Mine sculptures from 1995. Part of the Enchanted Places series, each was set on a separate wooden base with engraved brass nameplate. Original pieces did not carry any production year bottom stamp until mid-1996. Keeping with the Lilliputian-esque theme, artist Robert Olszewski created a set of diminutive figurines to go with the two "Enchanted Places" above. Released first in 1996 and on up through 1999, this tiny character collection included the usual, yet lovable, suspects of Snow White, followed by the dwarfs, and ending with the Witch.

Each of the nine 1" tall bronze figures was first carved in wax and encased in a solid metal mold. This mold was then heated so as to melt and drain the wax from inside. Once clear, a molten bronze was poured in and allowed to harden. The figurines are all hand-painted and retailed for $50 (USD) per piece.
